Basketball Recap: Belleview Christian Bruins vs. Flatirons Academy Bison

The Belleview Christian Bruins waltzed into their match on Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 68-56 victory over Flatirons Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Brandon Ewing was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ewing is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Norman, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.

Despite the loss, Flatirons Academy still got an impressive performance from Parker Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season. Pistol Chavez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Belleview Christian's win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.1 points per game. As for Flatirons Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Belleview Christian will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Mountain Lutheran has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Flatirons Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Briggsdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
