Softball Recap: Smithville Comes Up Short

Smithville extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 6-10. They lost 15-0 to the Hillsdale Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Smithies of the 12-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Hillsdale, their win bumped their record up to 13-2. Considering they have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Hillsdale's part, the team relied heavily on Emily Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave Smith a new career-high. Ally Morgan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

While Smithville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
