Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors
The Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 68-2 loss at the hands of Seven Rivers Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bishop McLaughlin Catholic has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic still got an impressive performance from Aliana Arana, who scored no points along with ten rebounds. Arana is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played.
Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's loss was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.5 points per game. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Cristo Rey Tampa at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Cristo Rey Tampa comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Seven Rivers Christian will be home for the holidays to greet Academy at the Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Academy at the Lakes is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
