Basketball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Takes a Loss

Cardinal Mooney was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. The contest between them and the East Liverpool Potters didn't end well, with the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals falling 60-44. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while the Potters are ranked 143rd).

Cardinal Mooney's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for East Liverpool, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Cardinal Mooney will square off against John F. Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Liverpool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Steubenville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Steubenville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
