Softball Recap: Chenango Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Chenango Valley waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Windsor Central Black Knights. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Chenango Valley got a massive performance out of Colsten Beers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. Beers is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Paske, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Chenango Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Chenango Valley pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor Central, they moved to 6-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chenango Valley will host Owego Free Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the River Hawks have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Windsor Central, they will welcome Susquehanna Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
