Basketball Recap: Alchesay Wins Going Away Against Valley

While Alchesay didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Valley Pirates 67-45 on Saturday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Kamare Classay was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 55% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Those 19 points gave her a new career-high. Leeya Lupe was another key player, putting up 12 points and three steals.

Alchesay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Alchesay is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. As for Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Alchesay didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-41 victory against St. Johns on the 13th. Valley will take on Dishchii'bikoh in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
