Baseball Recap: Trinity Valley Takes a Loss

Trinity Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Greenhill on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 9-8. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Andrew Audi was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Holden Williams, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.

Trinity Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Greenhill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trinity Valley will host St. Mark's at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenhill, they will take on Oakridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Owls have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
