Baseball Recap: Sequoia Victorious

Sequoia came out on top against Archbishop Riordan on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Ravens had just enough and edged out the Crusaders 6-5. The Ravens haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Garrett Johnson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Issac Nayfack also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Sequoia's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Archbishop Riordan, they dropped their record down to 6-16 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Sequoia will venture away from home to face off against Hillsdale at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Archbishop Riordan, they will head out to take on Junipero Serra at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Padres' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Crusaders' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
