The Port Gibson Blue Waves's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They managed a 63-57 victory over South Delta. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
South Delta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ahmani Lee, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The contest was Lee's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Emmanuel Sutton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Port Gibson's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for South Delta, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Port Gibson will head out on the road to face off against Natchez at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Natchez is ranked 112th, while Port Gibson is ranked 134th). As for South Delta, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Riverside at 8:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Aaron Stewart and Jamichael Green.
