Basketball Game Preview: Colleton County Cougars vs. Bluffton Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Colleton County Cougars challenge the Bluffton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Colleton County was able to grind out a solid win over Beaufort, taking the game 61-53.

Meanwhile, Bluffton beat Whale Branch 62-50 on Saturday. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Warriors are ranked 217th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Colleton County better keep an eye on Jamari Manning. He was instrumental in Bluffton's win, going 9 of 16 en route to 26 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Manning a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Skinner, who posted five points along with nine assists and seven steals.

Colleton County's record is now 6-8. As for Bluffton, their record now sits at 14-2.

Colleton County was able to grind out a solid victory over Bluffton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 56-47. Does Colleton County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bluffton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
