Dixie County hasn't had much luck at home recently (they'd lost three straight ) but thanks in part to Jaicee Brown that streak is no more. The Bears were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Fort White on Thursday for which the team can thank Brown, who had 34 digs and two assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 32 times she's played.

Dixie County never let Fort White on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-12, 25-18.

Dixie County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kate McKaskill, who had 12 digs and 11 assists. Those 12 digs gave McKaskill a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addie Whitaker, who had seven digs and three aces.

Dixie County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bell came up short against Union County on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Bell was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-16, 25-23.

Bell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Dixie County, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
