Softball Recap: Springfield Wildcats vs. Northwestern Warriors
Springfield extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-14 in the process. They lost 11-1 to the Northwestern Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-3 on Saturday.
Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazzdyn Frock, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Northwestern, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Northwestern's side, Olivia Pamer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Pamer has posted since back in April. Bailey Harris was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will venture away from home to challenge Tri-Village at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northwestern, they will take on Milton-Union in a tournament on Wednesday.
