Softball Recap: Pickerington Central Has No Trouble Against Groveport-Madison

Pickerington Central won the last time they faced Groveport-Madison and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers blew past the Cruisers 14-2. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Samara Williams looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Sophia Kounouzvelis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Jenna Robinson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Pickerington Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Pickerington Central's win bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Groveport-Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pickerington Central will face off against Newark at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Groveport-Madison, they will challenge Reynoldsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cruisers are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
