Brevard is 6-1 against Patton since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Brevard will face off against Patton at 6:30 p.m. Brevard has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with four straight losses, while Patton will come in with four straight wins.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Brevard and Enka, and Enka kept the tradition alive. Brevard fell 6-2 to Enka on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Patton hadn't done well against Brevard recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Patton put the hurt on Brevard with a sharp 12-6 victory. The Panthers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Cohen Christian was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Christian was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Laine Barrier was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two doubles. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Cole Attaway was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Patton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Patton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 5.29 in the others. As for Brevard, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Brevard suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Patton in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can Brevard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
