The team relied heavily on Bailey Henneike, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Chloe Ponton was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Donovan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Gardner-South Wilmington is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Donovan, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
