Softball Game Preview: Belmont Red Raiders vs. Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats

The Belmont Red Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Belmont is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Wednesday, Belmont was able to grind out a solid win over White Mountains, taking the game 4-1.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro-Deering came up short against Prospect Mountain on Wednesday, falling 7-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Hillcats in their meetings with the Timberwolves: they've now lost seven in a row.

Belmont's victory bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Hillsboro-Deering, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Belmont took their win against Hillsboro-Deering in their previous matchup back in May of 2019 by a conclusive 21-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
