Peck won the last time they faced Deckerville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pirates were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Pirates have won 15 matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryleigh Ureel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning three runs.
In other batting news, Sydney Parker was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Madisyn Taylor was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Peck lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Peck has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Deckerville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
Peck and Deckerville are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Pirates will face off against Capac on Friday. As for Deckerville, they will take on Caseville at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
