Baseball Game Preview: Holliday Eagles vs. City View Mustangs

For the second straight game, Holliday will face off against City View. Holliday will square off against City View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Holliday's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so City View's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Holliday took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let City View get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

City View's batters probably weren't too happy with Michael Stewart, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (he gave up two walks). Stewart has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Lawrence was excellent, scoring a run and stealing four bases. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Holliday has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. City View dropped their record down to 7-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
