Softball Recap: Egyptian Takes a Loss

Egyptian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-4 to the Meridian Bobcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 two weeks ago.

Egyptian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abrianna Woodson, who went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases. Woodson has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another was Allisyn Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Egyptian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Meridian, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Egyptian is set to face off against their familiar foe Agape Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Meridian will take on rival Shawnee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
