Softball Recap: Childress Takes a Loss

Childress's last matchup with Clarendon could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Childress Bobcats came up short against the Clarendon Broncos, falling 17-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bobcats of the 6-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Kaylee Felton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Ross, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Childress has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7-1 record this season. Clarendon now has a winning record of 3-2.

Looking ahead, Childress is headed away from home for the first time to square off against West Texas at 3:00 p.m. on March 11th. Clarendon will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hale Center at 1:00 p.m. on March 15th.
