Baseball Recap: Regents Drops Season-High Score on Grace Prep

Regents scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Grace Prep Lions by a score of 14-13. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (11), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Will Thomas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. Cash Nelson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Regents has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-5 Grace Community and 12-5 Grace Community (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.2% over those games). As for Grace Prep, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Regents is set to take on their familiar foe Brentwood Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grace Prep will square off against rival Grace Community at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
