Softball Recap: Bethlehem Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bethlehem ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Taylor County Cardinals. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 12-1 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Amelia Lamkin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Gabby Luckett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malorie Thiel, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Bethlehem and bumps their season record up to 19-13. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Taylor County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season.

Bethlehem will head out to take on Woodford County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taylor County, they will host Larue County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cardinals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
