Softball Recap: Ness City Eagles vs. Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs
Ness City had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-6 to make it ten. They lost 18-1 to the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Tuesday.
As for Sylvan-Lucas, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.
For Sylvan-Lucas' part, Lily Pancost made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Pancost has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
