Softball Recap: Jordan-Elbridge Gets the Win

Jordan-Elbridge lost to Cazenovia back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Eagles walked away with a 7-3 win over the Lakers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Abby DelFavero was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brielle Whitten, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brooke Chiaramonte, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Jordan-Elbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory got Jordan-Elbridge back to even at 2-2. As for Cazenovia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Jordan-Elbridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Homer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cazenovia, they will head out to take on Skaneateles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
