Baseball Recap: Le Roy Drops Season-High Score on Caledonia-Mumford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Le Roy). They put the hurt on the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders with a sharp 23-2 win on Thursday. The Oatkan Knights haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Peter Clark was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady McClurg, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Le Roy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Le Roy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Caledonia-Mumford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Le Roy will venture away from home to square off against Letchworth at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Oatkan Knights are facing the Legends at the right time seeing as the Legends are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Caledonia-Mumford, they will head out to take on Perry at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Yellowjackets have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
