Catoctin waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 win over the Mountain Ridge Miners. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 44-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Catoctin to victory were Kelsey Troxell and Brooke Williams. Troxell dropped a double-double with 21 points and 11 boards, while Williams went 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points and six rebounds. Williams has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Rebekah Zentz, who posted seven points.

Catoctin pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Catoctin will head out to square off against Francis Scott Key at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain Ridge, they will welcome Clear Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
