Basketball Game Preview: Cosby Titans vs. L.C. Bird Skyhawks

The Cosby Titans will square off against the L.C. Bird Skyhawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cosby took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Huguenot, posting a 55-14 win. The contest marked the Titans' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, L.C. Bird had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They secured a 48-44 W over the Chiefs.

L.C. Bird found their leader in freshman Sasha Hodge, who posted 18 points and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hodge has scored all season. Brielle Comer was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

L.C. Bird smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Cosby's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for L.C. Bird, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Things could have been worse for Cosby, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-35 loss to L.C. Bird in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Cosby avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
