Basketball Recap: Crestwood Skates Past Jefferson Area with Ease

There's no place like home for Crestwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 46-8 victory over the Jefferson Area Falcons. With the Red Devils ahead 27-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Crestwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Livia Martini led the charge by putting up eight points in addition to eight steals and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Martini a new career-high. Ava Macik was another key player, scoring 11 points and five boards.

Crestwood's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Jefferson Area, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestwood will welcome Chagrin Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson Area, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Falcons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
