Baseball Game Preview: Rowe Warriors vs. Sharyland Rattlers

The Rowe Warriors will face off against the Sharyland Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rowe will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Rowe and Sharyland had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Rowe had just enough and edged out Sharyland 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since February 20th.

For Sharyland's part, they got a good showing from Emilio Villarreal, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Villarreal a new career-low.

On the hitting side, Sharyland saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sergio Ibarra, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Ibarra hit this season.

Rowe pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Sharyland, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 12-3-2.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Rowe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sharyland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts.
