Soccer Game Preview: Vinton-Shellsburg vs. Xavier

The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Xavier Lancers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Vinton-Shellsburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Vinton-Shellsburg is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against West Delaware on Monday as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Vinton-Shellsburg's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six matches.

Meanwhile, Xavier hasn't lost a match since April 9th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. Neither they nor Linn-Mar could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Vinton-Shellsburg's win bumped their record up to 10-1-1. Xavier's draw gives them a new season record of 5-1-3.
