Evan Zales was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Eli Warring was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sauk Centre kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Montevideo waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Wildcats.
Griffin Epema made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ben Gunlogson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Montevideo pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sauk Centre, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.
