Softball Recap: Legacy Wins Going Away Against Mountain Range

Legacy's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Mountain Range Mustangs 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won six in a row.

Kady Cosyns was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Cosyns was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Prisca Smolens, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Megan Sandusky was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Legacy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Range only posted an OBP of .154.

The victory got Legacy back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Legacy will take on Highlands Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Range, they will be taking part in a tournament against Thompson Valley at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
