Basketball Game Preview: Queen's Grant Stallions vs. Indian Land Warriors

The Queen's Grant Stallions will take on the Indian Land Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. Queen's Grant knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 games -- so hopefully Indian Land likes a good challenge.

Queen's Grant took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 90-54 victory over Sugar Creek Charter. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-16.

Queen's Grant's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bobby Montgomery III, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Smith, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 20 points and eight boards.

Queen's Grant was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sugar Creek Charter only racked up nine assists.

Meanwhile, Indian Land faced Fort Mill in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Indian Land was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Fort Mill. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Queen's Grant is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Indian Land, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 16-2.
