Soccer Recap: Ridgeland Comes Up Short

If Ridgeland was feeling good fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Chattooga two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Murray County Indians on Tuesday, falling 4-1. Ridgeland were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Maria Ronda, who's now up to 14 this season.

Ridgeland has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Murray County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeland will face off against Ringgold at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ridgeland will be up against Ringgold's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.5 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Murray County, they will head out on the road to face off against Dalton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
