Softball Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs

The Goliad Tigers will challenge the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Goliad knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Nixon-Smiley likes a good challenge.

Goliad's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Luling. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Nixon-Smiley came up short against Poth on Tuesday, falling 18-3.

Goliad's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.8 runs this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.

Everything went Goliad's way against Nixon-Smiley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Goliad made off with a 22-3 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
