Baseball Recap: Maxwell Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Maxwell challenged Ferndale on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 9-8. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 15-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in March of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lucas Bowen made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Roach, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Maxwell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Ferndale, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Maxwell will host Pierce at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ferndale, they will head out on the road to challenge Hayfork at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
