Basketball Recap: Jaden Mallard's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mercy Prep Academy over Grayson Christian

Mercy Prep Academy was the 45-43 winner over Grayson Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mercy Prep Academy Royals lost to Grayson Christian at home by a 65-50 margin on Friday.

Mercy Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaden Mallard, who posted 20 points and five rebounds. Bradley Lewis was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Mercy Prep Academy's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-5. As for Grayson Christian, their record is now 7-5.

Mercy Prep Academy has already played their next match, a 58-11 victory against Faith Academy of Freestone on the 3rd. As for Grayson Christian, they will welcome Mercy Prep Academy at 6:15 p.m. on February 7th.
