Soccer Game Preview: Pilot Point vs. Aubrey

The Pilot Point Bearcats will take on the Aubrey Chaparrals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pilot Point's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Point duked it out withPanther Creek on Friday. Pilot Point came up short against Panther Creek, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 661st, while the Panthers are ranked 279th).

Meanwhile, Aubrey waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Leopards out 5-4. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but the Chaparrals were the better team in the second half.

Aubrey's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four contests. As for Pilot Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Pilot Point might still be hurting after the 4-1 loss they got from Aubrey when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Pilot Point avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
