Basketball Recap: Spooner Takes a Loss

Spooner lost against Amery back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spooner Rails took a 79-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amery Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (68), the Rails still had to take the loss.

Spooner has also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. Amery is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Amery beat Spooner by a score of 79-72 on Tuesday.
