Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Comanches vs. University Trojans

The Canyon Comanches will challenge the University Trojans at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Canyon 3.5, University 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Canyon is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on El Modena with a sharp 14-5 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Comanches considering their one-run performance the game before.

Kyle Mills was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyle Nulph, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Meanwhile, University lost 9-3 to San Dimas on Monday.

University saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brennan Collins, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Canyon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. University's loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
