Softball Game Preview: University City Centurions vs. Madison Warhawks

University City has gone a perfect 8-0 against Madison recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Centurions will take on the Warhawks at 4:00 p.m. University City will be strutting in after a victory while Madison will be coming in after a loss.

University City took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Olympian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Centurions won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 3-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Centurions as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Aliyah Padilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, University City's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sydni Sandoval, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Sandoval a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Chula Vista, falling 14-6.

University City's win bumped their record up to 6-13-1. As for Madison, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

University City was able to grind out a solid victory over Madison in their previous meeting back in March, winning 9-5. Do the Centurions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
