Baseball Recap: Cumberland Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cumberland can now relate to. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 17-4 to North Clay/Clay City, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 6-1 to North Clay/Clay City when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cumberland now has a losing record of 14-15. As for North Clay/Clay City, they pushed their record up to 34-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Cumberland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Clay/Clay City, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Goreville on the 8th.
