Recap: Moses Brown Quakers vs. Mt. Hope Huskies
The Moses Brown Quakers entered their tilt with the Mt. Hope Huskies with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Moses Brown blew past Mt. Hope 68-44. Moses Brown has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.
Moses Brown found their leader in underclassman Lauren Bousquet, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Bousquet is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Jaelynn Perez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elsa White, who scored 15 points. White hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly DaSilveira, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mt. Hope struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Moses Brown pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.
Moses Brown's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 20.07 points. As for Mt. Hope, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Moses Brown will head out on the road to challenge Tiverton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tiverton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Rhode Island Rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Moses Brown is ranked first). As for Mt. Hope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cranston East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
