After having lost a blowout in their previous game against LaSalle-Peru, Newark was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Indian Creek Timberwolves 8-6. The Norsemen haven't had any issues with the Timberwolves recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Brooklyn Wallin was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bailey Shutter was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

The win got Newark back to even at 7-7-2. As for Indian Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Newark beat Indian Creek by a score of 12-5 later that day.
