            Baseball Recap: Penncrest Lions vs. Springfield Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            It was a proper cat-fight when Penncrest duked it out with Springfield on Thursday. The Lions fell  7-3 to the Cougars. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won  4-0.
Penncrest got a good showing from  Liam Wray, who   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. What's more,  Wray gave up only zero  earned runs, the fewest he's  had since back in March.
 At the plate,  Nash Grant was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases and one  run.
This is the second loss in a row for Penncrest and  nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Springfield, their victory  ended  a  six-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 4-11.
 Looking ahead, Penncrest will square off against Marple Newtown at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Lions are facing the Fightin' Tigers at the right time seeing as the Fightin' Tigers are stuck on  a  four-game losing streak. As for Springfield, they will take on Strath Haven at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5  runs per game  this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
