Basketball Recap: Parkview Comes Up Short

Parkview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 79-14 defeat at the hands of the West Plains Zizzers. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Zizzers are ranked 42nd).

West Plains was led to victory by Gillian Green and Ainsley McWilliams. Green dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards, while McWilliams went 9 for 15 en route to 25 points in addition to five assists and three steals. With that strong performance, Green is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Zoe Shrubb was another key player, going 6 of 12 on her way to 13 points.

Parkview's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for West Plains, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Parkview will be playing in front of their home fans against Branson at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for West Plains, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-56 win against Logan-Rogersville on the 23rd.
