Recap: Stargate School Eagles vs. Colorado Academy Mustangs
After flying high against the Regis Groff Fusion last Saturday, the Stargate School Eagles came back down to earth. Stargate School ended up on the wrong side of a rough 68-42 walloping at the hands of Colorado Academy on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Stargate School in their matchups with Colorado Academy: they've now lost six in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Rusch, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Hunter Roark, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Colorado Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Michael Mckee, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mckee scored 15 or more points. Clyde Love was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Stargate School's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Colorado Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Stargate School will head out on the road to square off against Jefferson Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson Academy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Colorado Academy will take on Forge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Forge Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
