Volleyball Recap: Wakefield Wolverines vs. Cleveland Rams
Wakefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Cleveland Rams.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 25-15.
Gigi Rosa paced Wakefield's offense, picking up five kills. Rosa were helped by Lila Piburn and Gigi Ugur, who contributed four assists each. Ugur was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Addison Evans had another great game (as she tends to do), getting 26 assists and five aces for Cleveland. Evans has been hot for a while, having posted 18 or more assists the last 36 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sara Shaw, who had eight digs and five aces.
Wakefield's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cleveland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Wakefield and Cleveland will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Wolverines will challenge rival Corinth Holders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Cleveland is set to face off against their familiar foe South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
