Softball Recap: Merrill's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Merrill had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Coleman Comets by a score of 13-8. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Merrill's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Coleman, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Merrill is set to challenge their familiar foe Montabella at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Coleman will take on rival Sacred Heart Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
