Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Peru couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 7-4 to the Maine-Endwell Spartans on Saturday. The Nighthawks' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kalib Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two doubles and one run.

Peru's loss dropped their record down to 17-2. As for Maine-Endwell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Peru does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maine-Endwell, they will take on Sayville at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The Golden Flashes' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
